Sketchbook: Godzilla 2012 Legendary Pictures

Legendary Pictures sprung a nice surprise for those lucky enough to attend the debut Comic Con 2012 teaser trailer for Godzilla 2012. After looking at the leaked photo of the new Godzilla I have to say I like him. He has a snapping turtle like jaw that is bottom heavy giving this Godzilla a serious animal feel. I'm not sure if he's going to be the traditional upright build or more theropod like the 1998 version. Either way I don't think this version is running from anything. So here's my first few doodles from my sketch book with a quick gray scale thrown on one. I'll probably start narrowing down on his look as we get closer to opening night.
